Sir George Shear­ing was one of the most beloved and hon­ored jazz pianists of all time, and com­poser of “East of the Sun, West of the Moon” and “Lul­laby of Bird­land.” He per­formed for three pres­i­dents, the Queen of Eng­land, and all over the world until his death last year at age 91.  The vibra­phon­ist, Char­lie Shoe­make, played with one of Shearing’s pre­mier quin­tets,  and is now lead­ing a trib­ute group which you have a chance to see this Fri­day at The Seasons.
