New Yak City & The Seasons present Posse Off Broadway Tour
$8.00 Presale, $10.00 Day of Show
Featuring Dyme Def, J. Pinder, Eighty4 Fly, Royce the Choice, GMK
Dyme Def is a Seattle based hip hop trio, founded in 2006 and composed of rappers Fearce Villain, S.E.V., and Brainstorm. Bean One is the primary beat producer for the group, but MC Brainstorm makes the occasional beat as well, although he is also a recognized MC, being a past champion of the Red Bull Beat Battle in 2007.
J. Pinder, son of Seattle, no doubt one the town’s brightest, expresses himself far better in song. He’s a subtle and gifted painter of words and space, and knows how to express big ideas simply, how to bring emotional content without emo histrionics. “The Stranger”
Eighty4 Fly was born and raised in Seattle. He started out recording from one tape deck to another, then upgraded to so-called studios in friends basements. The first time he ever got in a real studio, the budding emcee was 16 years old and ended up in a booth with West Coast producer Funk Daddy (Sir Mix-a-Lot, E-40). A mixtape hosted by KUBE’s DJ B-Mello, 1st Class ’N Flyworld, is due out in the near future. The forthcoming debut full length No Flght Home is scheduled for a release in early 2011.
Just like every other emcee in Seattle, Eighty4 Fly is aiming to become the flagship of Seattle’s hip-hop renaissance. But unlike most of his townsfolk, he isn’t just making music for Seattle—it’s for everybody.
Royce The Choice chooses to go by his real name in order to tell his story, to engage his listeners in their choice of listening to him. Born and raised in Seattle, he found himself briefly living and working in Los Angeles last year (2010) when he released his first mixtape “Choosin Season Volume 1.” He describes “Choosin Season Volume 1” as a choice mixture of remixes and covers that allowed him to put his own spin on, as well as original material. Royce also managed to receive the attention of the staff of 50 cent with the appearance of his in-studio peformance video “Stoopid” on 50′s site Boobootv.com. He was busy this past year, recording over 100 songs, some of which will appear on the aptly titled “Choosin Season Volume 2.”
