A Look Ahead: 2010
Happy New Year! We have an exciting year of great performances lined up. Look forward to weekly performances featuring Jazz, Latin, Folk, Blues, Classical and even Opera through April. Summer will bring you another high energy outdoor concert series, and in October be ready for our fifth annual Fall Music Festival! 2010 will truly have something for everyone...So tell your friends about The Seasons or, better yet, bring them along.
JAZZ: From the Big Apple & Beyond
Artists celebrated on a national level, artists from international backgrounds, and artists whose music stem from a variety of cultural influence- The Seasons upcoming Jazz Series. This series begins with The Ingrid Jensen Quartet, followed by The Mauger Trio featuring saxophonist Rudresh Mahanthappa, audience favorite Tierney Sutton and ends with famed Czech pianist and composer Emil Viklicky.

The amazing Chris Thomas King, as seen in the movies, Oh Brother Where Art Thou, and Ray. He will headline our Blues Series, which is still a work in progress. King will be perform an exclusive solo show. "For me to perform solo it has to be in the right room or in a theater. Performing solo works best when the audience can hear every word and note I'm playing," King muses. The Seasons is the perfect place for such an intimate experience with an artist.
True Love: Where Jazz & Pop Meet
For Valentine's Day weekend, we welcome Sachal Vasandani, a new young talent we have fallen in love with and you will too! With his singular, deep-brewed voice and an uncanny sensibility to straddle the fine line between jazz and pop, Vasandani will give us a night to remember. If you love Michael Bublé and Steve Tyrell, Vasandani will light your fire.
A Trip to Cuba: The Cradle of Latin Music
Stay tuned for details on our Latin Series, which will feature the amazing Charanga Danzon. This seven piece ensemble plays traditional Cuban music, Including Cuban ballads and Cuban dance music. If you love The Buena Vista Social Club, this night is for you. In fact, Charanga Danzon's Conga Player, Pedro Torres, has actually toured with Barbarito Torres, a member of the Social Club ensemble. Gypsy Jazz
Pearl Django's music reaches across the divides of taste to a wide variety of audiences.The band's fervent followers include fans of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli fans, guitar enthusiasts (and guitarists!), lovers of string music- including bluegrass devotees, who relish nimble, clean, intricate picking- "world music" fans drawn to French and Gypsy accents, plus jazz buffs and aficionados of the new swing music.

As always The Seasons will present a stream of regional jazz ensembles such as Rebecca Kilgore and PDXV Jazz and The Jon Hamar Trio, folk music (Tingstad and Rumbel, date TBA). Our 2010 season will also include more Opera singers and a series of Impressionist classical works performed by a variety of ensembles. Stay tuned for details.
