Backstage Grand Opening
For years, what was only visible to the artists will now be open for the public. Our backstage green room has undergone an extensive renovation in the past eight months to offer another venue in Yakima for more intimate performances. To keep true to the history of this almost 100-year-old building, we were able to salvage the original flooring that hasn’t seen the light of day in over fifty years. We salvaged the original stained glass doors from the front of the building and reused them in the green room windows for a more cohesive look. New paint on the walls and a soon to be completed fully functional kitchen will tie all of renovations together.
This Saturday, March 12th, we will be opening our back stage to the public with an art show by Lisa Woolcock and concert performed by Mycle Wastman. Mycle’s smooth operator voice paired with his band’s clean R&B riffs, are a surefire lady-killer first date or 25th anniversary. Based out of Seattle, Mycle has a following all throughout the Northwest. Pre-sale tickets are already flying through the doors from his avid fans.
The beauty of this new venue is its smaller more intimate capacity. With a capacity of 200, as compared to 450 in the front hall, we can host more niche bands and artists that normally we would have a tough time booking because of our large capacity in front. This also gives the Seasons more appeal those looking to rent the facility for their own functions. What was once a wedding rental can now become a wedding and reception rental. Baptisms, quinceaneras, birthday parties, small group meetings and presentations, all have a more affordable venue to rent.
We look forward to the new opportunities available with this new extension to The Seasons and hope that Yakima too will embrace and utilize this new added feature committed towards the revitalization of downtown Yakima.
